Yoshihiro Takayama, MD, PhD, is Director of the Department of Community Care at Okinawa Chubu Hospital, Japan. He graduated from the University of Tokyo’s School of Health Sciences in 1995 and Yamaguchi University School of Medicine in 2002, and earned his PhD from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Nagasaki University in 2024. After postgraduate training at Kyushu Medical Center and Saku Central Hospital, he served in the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, working in infectious disease control and regional healthcare planning. Since 2010, he has practiced infectious diseases and community care at Okinawa Chubu Hospital. He also serves as an Expert Member of the Council for Promotion of Regulatory Reform, a Visiting Professor at the University of the Ryukyus, and an Advisor to the Minister’s Secretariat of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. His work focuses on infectious diseases, community medicine, and health policy.
