The Prince Mahidol Award Conference (PMAC) has been bringing together global health experts since 2007 to address critical policy issues affecting communities worldwide. For PMAC 2027, we invite young artists to explore the theme “Achieving Health Through Addressing Commercial Determinants of Health”
People’s health is not determined only by their genes, personal choices, or access to healthcare services. It is also shaped by the world around us every day — including the food we eat, the media and information we consume, the places where we live, the products and services we use, and the opportunities and challenges created by our social and economic environments. These factors shape our lifestyles, influence the choices we make, and affect our health in ways that can be both visible and invisible. Today, our world is more connected than ever before. Businesses, markets, and innovations have a growing influence on how people live, creating both opportunities and challenges for health and well-being. Understanding how people, society, the economy, technology, and the environment are connected is essential for building a future where everyone has an equal opportunity to live a healthy life and enjoy a good quality of life.
